THE ROLAND HAYES STORY is Glenn's latest music drama, drawing on the life of the legendary African-American tenor.
The musical score consists of key items from Hayes's repertoire, including works by Mendelssohn, Buttersworth, Schubert, Faure and others. Also featured are several spirituals in Hayes's own arrangements.
THE ROLAND HAYES STORY was commissioned by Virginia Opera's Statewide Department of Education and is presented by Herndon Foundation Emerging Artists Stephen Myles, Symone Harcum and Seth King-Gengler.
Stage direction is by Dr. Karen Ward, Professor of Theater at Hampton University.
